What is Local Search?
Local search is a new and powerful option for businesses large or small.
We will use Google for this example but Yahoo and Bing have similar services.
When you do a search for a product or service online, I’m sure you have noticed
the map that shows up. It’s called Google maps or Google places. These listings
can and should be claimed by the business owner. Once you claim your listing you
can add a link to your website. You can also upload pictures, video and even a coupon.
Google Places is the new Yellow Pages.
You can have your Local Business show up on page one of Google for your Local Market.
Google doesn’t charge for these listings but there are specific things you need to know and do
if want to be on the first page and stay there.
